Counselling in Berkshire - Pauline Sexton

If this advertisement has caught your attention, the chances are that you are - or a person close to you is - considering the possibility of personal therapy or counselling. If you are new to this, the whole idea may seem a bit daunting. What sort of therapy should I go for? Should I go for counselling, or psychotherapy? What is the difference anyway?

I am an integrative psychotherapist: this means that I am well acquainted with the theory and practice of different orientations, but that my focus is on what my client brings at any given time. This can be anything from 'unfinished business' from the past to emotional or behavioural difficulties in the present. Often they are related.

My aim is to work in partnership with, and to support my client in whatever direction s/he chooses to go, whether it is to explore 'what makes me tick', or more urgent crisis work.

I abide by the code and ethics of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP), the British Psychological Society (BPS), and the Metanoia Institute.

My Services

The work can be long or short-term. I work with adults (anyone over 15).

I take frequent professional consultation on my work with my clients. This helps to ensure professional and ethical integrity, and ultimately, my clients' safety and continued well-being.

I abide by the code and ethics of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP), the British Psychological Society (BPS), and the Metanoia Institute.
